The first movie I did with Will (William Waters) was Pestilent Vapors. It’s an incredible, fun movie and I’ll be honest, working with Will was so refreshing. I’ve had a few bad experiences in Hollywood, but when you work with someone like Will who is so good at envisioning what he wants it makes all the difference. He wrote the script and directed it, and while I helped to produce, he did a lot of the producing too. He’s really a great partner. He fills in very well, he directs the way he wants to and gets what he wants done and he just works with you.
I’ve worked with him a few times now and watching him work with the other actor on this last piece that we did, it was clear that he was getting what he wanted in only a few takes. When he was working with me, he took into account that I was really exhausted from producing and getting up at 4am and talking to everybody and trying to get everything done, that he really just worked with me over and over to get what he needed and it was amazing.
My experience on the Pestilent Vapors movie was incredible because I’ve worked with so many people who didn’t know what they wanted, and a lot of directors hide that, but Will knows what he wants and he’s very clear about it and it was a lot of fun making this movie. A lot of favours of course, but it turned out to be a really good piece and I feel like it really holds up, it stands the test of time, because even though we shot it a few years ago, it still looks great. Overall, this was such a positive experience, to get to work with him and his friends and some of my friends too. So much fun.
