Marlene Dietrich born Mare Magdalene “Marlene” Dietrich was an American actress born in Herman Empire. She was born on 27Th December 1901 in Berlin. Her career was not just limited to acting, she even sang.
At a very young age, she learned violin from which she was very much interested in theatre. She got her first job as a violinist but was kicked out after a few weeks. She then appeared as a chorus girl. Thereafter, she also played a few roles in the drama. Her personal life was not much public.

Marlene Dietrich Career
Her debut started when she was playing for “The Little Napoleon.” She then started acting in Tragedy of Love where she also found her future husband. They got married in the same year and had a child after that.
Even after her marriage, Marlene did the work on stage as well as she was starring in films. She got many interesting roles during the 1920s such as Pandora’s Box, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Training of Shew, Misalliance, etc. All these were small films.
In the last 1920s, she got a role in Lola Lola which was her breakthrough. The same film had her one of the most notable or signature song, “Falling In Love Again”. Her first recording of that song was for Electrola’s label. Thereafter, she did it again for Polydor and Decca Records.
After the promotion by Josef Von Sternberg, she went to the US where she signed a contract with Paramount Pictures. Sternberg welcomed her with gifts and a green Rolls-Royce Phantom II. The car then appeared in the Morocco film and got a lot of attention.
She did a lot of films after that. Some of the notable films include The Scarlet Empress, Dishonoured, The Devil is a Human, The Blue Angel, Stage Fight, Blonde Venus, The Spoilers, and many more.

- She had an image of a Femme Fatale and the most glamorous mysterious female. It continued during her entire life.
- Her first role was in a silent film and she had a side role in it. The first role was in The Little Napolean.
- Some of the co-stars called her the Queen of Ajax as she had bacillophobia. She used to fear germs and sometimes act the same.
- Merlene was known for many roles but she was the first-ever person to give an on-screen lesbian kiss. It was in the notable film Morrocco.
- She is known as one of the most glamorous actresses. She even had an amazing fashion sense.
Last Days
During the last days of Marlene Dietrich, she used to live in total isolation. She died alone in Paris on 6th May 1992. The reason for her death was kidney failure. She was 90 years old at the time of death. Her funeral had more than 1500 mourners in the church itself which showed the popularity of the late actress and singer.
