We are all quite familiar with the sound of shutter in our cameras but do we know what exactly happens behind the curtain! Let’s find out!
Shutter is basically a curtain which lifts itself up for a time to let the light enter and falls down to limit the exposure of light completely. It allows light to into a film or sensor.
Point to be noted here is this that it is not just a curtain or a gate. It is a complex mechanism of allowing light inside for a calculated time. There are various types of shutters available in the market as per need of the photogrpher.
DSLR Shutter
DSLR is abbreviation of Digital Single Lens Reflex. That means that your camera is composed of a mirror and a prism. This lets you see exactly what goes through the lens.
The optics of the DSLR works by placing a mirror behind the lens, which goes to a prism inside. You can think of it as a tiny periscope that bounces light around to reach your eye.
Here comes the function of mirror? As, the mirror is directly behind the lens, it stops the light from hitting the shutter. But the DSLR is designed in such a way that when you press the shutter button, the mirror goes up so the shutter can open and make an exposure.
While the mirror is up, a shutter curtain goes down and exposes the sensor behind it. Once the exposure is finished, a second curtain goes down and covers the sensor.
Hello this is kinda of off topic but I was wanting to know if blogs
use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with
HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding experience so I wanted
to get guidance from someone with experience. Any help would
be greatly appreciated!
I do not manually code anything it is word press.
