To begin with, the personal life was born in Los Angeles, California. Her name was Norma Jeane Mortenson. Her mother was from a poor family who has migrated to California. Her mother was married to a guy named Gladys at the age of 15 years. He was abusive and 9 years older than her. He even had two children. One of the many things that Monroe was not talk was about her sister. She met her sister at the age of 12 not knowing the fact that she had one. In the meanwhile, Monroe’s mother started working as a negative film cutter. She worked at the Consolidated Film Industry.

The childhood of the actress was happy and stable. However, as the years passed, things started taking another gear. She used to move a lot and change the places too often. She also lived with the Atkinsons and was also sexually abused at that time. She, later on, found a permanent home in 1938.

Debuting the First Film

She started her career in the film industry as a model. She came to the Pacific in 1994. She had to stay there for two years. So, she started working at RadioPlane Company. It was a munition factory. In 1944, she met with a photographer. That’s where the modeling journey began.

She did a photoshoot which was supposed to be of the women workers in the factory. None of her pictures were used but she still left the factory. That was the time when started t model for Dave Canvoer (the photographer).

One year later, she signed a contract with the Blue Book Model Agency and that’s when the modeling career began. She used the name Jean norman sometimes. The actress also made small changes in the appearance to become fit for the role. She dyed her hair and also straightened the curls.

Her body was perfect for the pin-up model. She was mostly featured in the men’s magazines and ads. Even the agency owner said she was a very hard working model, due to the hard work, she appeared in 33 magazines including Pageant, US Camera, and Peek.

Initially, she also signed many contracts with the film studios. However, she wasn’t considered the perfect actress. One of the directories once said, “She would be the greatest if she ran like a watch”. No doubt, she was punctual but “I have an aunt Minnie who’s very punctual, but who would pay to see Aunt Minnie?”, the director further added.

Later, the breakthrough came with Love happy, A Ticket to Tomahawk, The Fireball, Right Cross. All these had an important role in access.

Film Career

After the initial films, she also appeared in All About Eye and The Asphalt Jungle. She was only in the film for a few minutes. However, she still got a mention in Photoplay. This is when the model was all ready to convert to a Serious Actress. The biographer Donald Spoto said, “moved effectively from movie model to serious actress”.

She faced a lot of obstacles. One of the obstacles was a scandal. It came out that before becoming an actress, she had posed for a nude photoshoot. The pictures were all over the Playboy. She was strong enough to come out of this scandal. She gained sympathy more this.

Classic Movie Ramblings: Niagara (1953)

The actress got most of her films for the sex appeal. She wore a revealing in the Miss America Pageant and told the Earl (Gossip columnist) that she wore no underwear. By this time, she gained two different reputations. One was of sex symbol whereas the directors had the reputation of “difficult to work with” as she was late many times and didn’t remember the dialogue too.

She had a lot of stage fear and low self-esteem. Due to this, she would ask the director to take several retakes before the final release. To alleviate all of these, she started taking e barbiturates, amphetamines, and alcohol.

The fall of Monroe

In the 1960s, she had two flopped films which are why she was also facing more anxiety. She completed her last film in which she was a discovered woman who later on became friends with cowboys. Even in her real life, her relationship was just over. She started a new relationship with the photographer. Her health started falling more and all the gallstones started painting. The artist did the makeup while she was unconscious.

This made her more addicted to drugs and alcohol which took her life later on. The New York Mirror read “Marilyn Monroe Kill Self”. “Found nude in bed. hand on the phone. took 40 pills”, it further added. All the papers of the US and Europe read the same news. She was all over the front page.
